James Wanklyn, 20, from Whitecross, competed with fifty other mountainboarders from across the country in Round 1 of the International Mountainboard Series held at Ironsides Court Farm Mountainboard Centre, near Hereford, last weekend.

James, who has been mountainboarding for nine years, fought off Matt Brind, three times UK champion, and Pete Tatham, World Downhill Champion, to come out on top in both Boardercross racing and freestyle. James said, “I never expected to win both Boardercross and Freestyle. It was an amazing start to the season and I”m looking forward to the next competition.”
