After cancelling UKC20 and having to reschedule UKC21 due to COVID-19, it was fantastic to finally get the community together for UKC21. Hosted by Harthill Adventure Park for the last time before they close their doors for good, the UKC21 provided spectacular riding and an emotional weekend for all. Some old and favourite faces came out of the woodwork to join in the competition and celebration and Harthill was given given the farewell it deserved.
On the competitive side, Sonnie Dibben made a cleansweep in the Seniors category while Beiran Martlew managed to hold off Nathan Jenkins in a fierce battle for the Masters title, given Beiran his second in a row by only one point.
In the Pro category, the absence of Matt Brind left James Wanklyn, Andy Brind and Ben Wanklyn finely poised for a tight fight for the Overall. Ben dominated Saturday to get off to a perfect start and managed to just hold on through the Sunday to win a maiden Pro Overall title ahead of his older brother, the 2018 champion, James Wanklyn.
The Andre La Roche Memorial Trophy was repurposed by Raph La Roche and will no longer be awarded to the Masters Overall Champion, but awarded to the Master who most embodies the spirit with which Andre approached mountainboarding, Scott Leadbitter was awarded the Andre La Roche Memorial Trophy for 2021.
